Group Reformer Introduction
Our 90-minute Group Reformer Introduction is the perfect place to start if you want to get going with our regular timetable of classes as soon as possible.
You’ll get oriented with the Reformer, learn to set up your machine, how it moves when you put your hands or feet in the straps and how to change the springs. Because this isn’t a standard class, there’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get comfortable with how everything works.
At the end of the session, your instructor will recommend which classes on the timetable are the best next step for you.
Perfect if you’re looking for a friendly introduction to get going in regular classes.
I’d like to build my confidence first…
Essentials Course
Ideal if you’d like to build your confidence week by week.
Over four weeks, you’ll revisit the key foundations of Reformer Pilates, repeating the core exercises each week before gradually adding new movements and challenges.
This progressive approach gives you time to develop good technique, become familiar with the equipment and build confidence at your own pace.
By the end of the course, most people feel ready to move into our regular Evolve classes.

One to One Introduction
Choose a 1:1 Introduction if you’d prefer a time that suits your schedule, or if you’re managing an injury, recovering from pain or would like individual guidance before joining a class.
Your instructor will tailor the session to you, helping you understand the Reformer while taking your movement history and any physical concerns into account.
Together, you’ll decide which classes will help you continue progressing safely and confidently.
Book your 1:1 Introduction under the Courses section.
If you can’t find a time that works for you, get in touch — we have additional appointment times available.
Becky is an amazing teacher, always attentive and positive. She puts you at ease instantly and really helps you to improve your technique. Having never tried reformer pilates before I joined AlignWell, I can now confidently say it is one of my favourite parts of the week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have a question? Here are some of the things we’re asked most often. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
Absolutely. Many of our clients are completely new to Reformer Pilates when they first join us. Our Getting Started pathways are designed to help you build confidence before moving into regular classes, so you don't need any previous experience.
If you're unsure, we'd recommend getting in touch. We'll ask a few simple questions and help you decide which starting point is the best fit for your experience, confidence and goals.
In many cases, yes. We recommend getting in touch before booking so we can understand your circumstances and advise on the most appropriate way to begin. For many people, a One-to-One Introduction is the best place to start.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are required for all Reformer classes and are available to purchase at the studio if you don't already have a pair.
Once you've completed your Group Introduction, Essentials Course or One-to-One session, we'll recommend the regular class that's the best fit for you. Most clients progress into our Essentials, Evolve or Empower timetable, depending on their experience and goals.
Of course. We'd much rather help you choose the right starting point than have you book something that doesn't feel right. Get in touch and we'll be happy to answer your questions.
